and come on a little journey with us. This may be the longest and most boring post ever but I wanted to record it down for my "posterity" so they will know and understand what it is like to be a ranching family so maybe it will defer them from becoming one. So I am going to tell someone whoever reads this blog or will read this blog what we have been doing the last month. All I can say is whoa baby!

Sept 29th - Oct 4th (and yes I am really looking at the calendar so my dates are correct) We went to Colorado for the "Forest Weekend." This is a time where we go up to the summer range and get about 220 cows and calves and bring them closer to the Colorado house. A lot of riding and what not. (Didn't take pictures...was lazy)


October 5th - October 7th Came home early so Tyler could work these days. My days were spent doing laundry, paying bills, getting stuff ready to go back to Colorado, and getting Aspyn the rest she needed because she was WAY sick the few days before (took her to the doctor and put her on antibiotics...found out she is allergic to penicillin...had a BAD rash...that should be fun for the rest of her life.

October 7th - October 13th Went back out to Colorado and got all the calves shipped off. Below are some pictures of it. Aspyn was starting to feel better so that is good.

The boys had Mustache mania month for the month of October. Needless to say...Tyler won. So UGLY!!!! Didn't get a pic of all of them...would have broken my camera.

October 14th - Aspyn just stood up in the middle of the living room and decided today was the day she was going to fully start walking. She started walking the day of her 13th month birthday but wasn't really serious about it. Well, today was the day! Now, she will ONLY walk and is getting really good at it. We have bought her shoes but will wait to have her wear them until she is walking fabulous and steady. SO FUN!!!!

October 13th - October 15th Came home from Colorado and spent our days up on the Blue Mountain looking for OUR cows...the Broken I cows. This was a little more trickier because our cows like to play and go seek and never be found unlike Justin's. My mom came down on the 15th for a couple of days to see what shipping was all about.

October 16th Woke up at 5:15 after being up since 3 am with Aspyn...not feeling well again...who knows why now...but me and my mom drove down to Monument Valley to watch all the cowboys in a TV commercial for a British TV commercial that was being filmed down there. SO COOL!!! Came home that night. Exhausted!!!!

There were 7 cowboys on horses that were pushing 50 unsaddled horses up over the hill.
Then they would have to slow the RUNNING horses down and get them looped back around to start over again to start them running over the hill. It was hard work. They literally almost killed some horses becuase it was so tiring for them.

Because the horses were so tired...the filming crew had to change they method and recored just the cowboys and will digitally add the horses later. So this is a picture of them just running by themselves over the hill. The hill they were running over was the same hill they used in Back to the Future part two where they hide the car in the cave. That is the hill they run over. Pretty cool.

October 17th - October 20th Went to St. George with Michele to watch my two nephews play their state golf tourney. So fun to be there and relax for a second...if you call that relaxing...was at the tourney all day long for two days then got up early weds and drove home and fed 35 people at my house 4 hours later.

October 21st Shipped our calves...way exciting day for Tyler and I and Shawn and Kathryn...we actually made it through and we did a stellar job might I add.

This was the FIRST day since September 29th that Tyler came home before dark. Might I add this WHOLE summer he didn't get home before dark but there were maybe a few nights in the three months that he did or Aspyn and I were with him but needless to say...Tyler was welcomed by his two members in his fan club.
Aspyn was literally beside herself that her daddy was home early. She wouldn't leave his side. Look out the window...light. It was a miracle.

October 22nd - October 23rd Tyler down and out with the flu. Puking his guts out and hating life. Didn't get a picture of that. Felt horrible for him though. Aspyn has green snot and sweet hack so she is getting sick but hopefully it is her teeth coming in but who knows.

October 24th - Didn't make it to church AGAIN FOR THE 5th Sunday in a ROW!!!! Whoops...was out fixing some fence because Tyler and Shawn pushed the cows down south and part of the fence was down so we had to go fix it so the dang cows wouldn't get out and make it down to Deckers before they are suppose to.

October 25th - Today is the first day back to work for Tyler since the 8th of October. Needless to say he is hating life right now. I FINALLY just finished folding the laundry that I did 4 DAYS ago and cleaned up the house so it was presentable. We welcomed a brand new niece last night and had my Grandma's 80th birthday yesterday. Now this week, I am going in to have a little surgery... nothing serious just a little procedure on Wednesday. Then we have Halloween and parties. It should be fun. This month is OVER and it was a KILLER for us rancher folk!!!!!
