Memorial Day 2013

Tyler went wild cow chasing for a couple of days in May and was telling Aspyn what he was doing while getting ready to leave. Well, this kid starts sobbing...just crying up a storm. So when we started questioning her as to what was wrong, she was sad cause Tyler was going "camping" without her. Aspyn has been talking about going "camping" for an ENTIRE year! It was completely putting her in break down mode cause she wanted to go camping. Anyway, Tyler promised her we would go camping this summer. I just looked at him cause Tyler DOES NOT CAMP. He thinks camping is ridiculous. Why would anyone put themselves through all that work of getting ready, having to take stuff for food and sleeping and entertainment - just to sit there around a fire and have nothing to do. Colorado definitely spoiled his ideas about camping. I grew up camping and love it. So when he told her he would take her, I just raised my eyebrows and looked at him like Oh Realllly?!?!?
Our friends invited us to go camping Memorial Day weekend just a few days after the mega "meltdown" so it was perfect timing. Tyler wasn't too pleased but I and Aspyn for that matter wasn't going to let him back down from his promise. We had a great time!!! We were literally only gone from our house for like 19 hours, but the girls had fun and were filthy and Tyler had a smile on his face when we left so I call it a successful trip.
Just playing

Loving all the pine cones.
Chez thought she needed to help feed Ledge. Ledge was willing for a few times.

This was what Chezney looked like literally 20 minutes into being there. She belly rolled in the dirt. She was loving life!
Setting up camp
Tyler said he wasn't going unless we had a trailer. I didn't have any pride in asking Grover's to borrow theirs. It worked out nicely and we slept decent that night so all in all the whole "trailer" experience was great for a less than 24 hour trip.
Berlin, Sadie, Aspyn and Chezney
Our kids look like they are hating their lives...but they were sick of me trying to take pictures of them. They really did have a fabulous time! HaHaHa

Rachel and Stetson, Lacey and Chezney, Kelby and Ledge
We had plenty of fun activities. Shawn brought softballs and bats. Cole brought a golf club. The boys were trying to do all these trick plays with the ball and ended up hitting all the trees in between so they would bounce back to us. The woman folk put an end to that one once Jimmy almost killed Sadie.

We brought the 4-wheeler, which was a HUGE fit amongst the kiddos.

We definitely didn't starve. We only were there for dinner and breakfast. I think we ended up throwing away half the dogs.
Another fun piece of entertainment, was to climb up the ramps onto the truck and play on the flatbed. The girls had so much fun with that.
